Concordia Career College offers a complete and internationally recognized short-term teacher training course leading to a TESOL Diploma. The course is open to native and non-native English speakers.
We believe students learn from doing. Thus, the TESOL course stresses student participation with feedback from teachers & peers. Class size is small so teachers can spend time helping students developing their own unique teaching style.
Our past graduates now teach in all corners of the world. Teaching English has provided many people with a new career as well as travel and exciting experiences.
The demand for English teachers far exceeds the number of individuals available to teach English. Lack of an undergraduate degree of experience is not necessarily an impediment to many types of teaching opportunities if the job-seeker holds a TESOL Certificate. This is because 75% of ESL teaching is conversation based. Short-term TESOL certificates are best suited for overseas as competition for ESL teaching positions in Canada is high. In the Lower Mainland (Vancouver) there are hundreds of language schools with more expected to open. BUT for an abundance of jobs, adventure, exceptional opportunities for career enhancement and life changing experiences we recommend teaching in a foreign country.
FREE Info Session - Discover why English has become a global imperative and how you can use your English to begin a new career.
What is the difference between TEFL, TESL, TESOL, TEAL, Cambridge, CELTA?
Interestingly enough, the English language teaching world has a bewildering array of abbreviations and acronyms, which all mean the same thing. Currently there is no one-standard for learning to teach English.
